What the extension does.
AI Cliché Detector scans the text you write and highlights cliché phrases and weak structural patterns. All of this detection happens locally, inside your browser. Your draft text is never transmitted, never stored on a server, and never sent to us or anyone else.
Where it reads, and only where.
The extension is built around a deliberate choice not to read every page you visit.
- In Gmail, the extension runs automatically on compose text. It reads only what you are writing in the Gmail composer, and only inside your browser.
- On every other site, the extension reads nothing by default. When you click the extension icon on a page, you grant it permission to read the text fields on that one tab, for that one visit. Switch to another tab, or reload the page, and the permission is gone. You re-grant it by clicking the icon again.
This is the activeTab model. The extension cannot quietly read pages in the background. It only sees the text box you point it at.
What is stored.
Your settings (the words you have muted, the words you have added, your preferences, and your lifetime count of one-click fixes used) are saved using Chrome's built-in storage. If you are signed into Chrome, Chrome syncs those settings across your own devices. They are not sent to us.
The paid tier.
If you purchase the one-time upgrade for unlimited one-click fixes, payment and license verification are handled by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), a third-party service, using Stripe for payment. To verify your license, the extension sends ExtensionPay your extension ID, an anonymous identifier, and the email address associated with your purchase. It never sends your writing or draft text. Free users: the extension makes a license check that confirms no paid license exists; it carries no personal data and no writing.
What we do not do.
No analytics. No tracking. No advertising. No selling of data. The extension contains no remote code.
